A side effect of this pandemic (as though it needs a side effect!) is that you're spending a lot more time looking at screens. Whether it's Zoom meetings for work, fitness classes, or "happy hours" with friends, everything is online! So, what do you do about that eye strain? You know, the burning, dry eye sensation from looking at the screen all day...
I met with Dr. Rani last week on Instagram Live to talk about just that! She invited me to share about the Ayurvedic approach to eye strain and vision. Dr. Rani is an integrative neuro-opthalmologist based out of New York. In this video, we talked about:
The ayurvedic and functional medicine approach of addressing root causes
Remedies for computer eye strain
The ayurvedic approach to glaucoma and macular degeneration
The importance of digestion and why ice-cold water is a big no!
We finished up with a demo of yoga eye exercises, a 1-minute practice to relieve eye strain
This is probably one of my favorite interviews yet! I was able to share my approach of how I use Ayurveda to help clients. Even though we were talking about eye conditions, there are so many great key points in this interview about the foundations of Ayurveda. If you're at all interested in knowing more about what Ayurveda is, I definitely recommend you check out this video!
As always, I'd love to hear your biggest takeaways after you watch this video. Please leave your comments and questions below!
