Did you set resolutions for the year? I hope not!
Let me explain... The days of New Year's Resolutions are gone. I mean, we all know how that story goes. You set a resolution, something like "I'm going to lose 10 lbs this year. This is the year it's going to happen! I got my gym membership. I'm going to go everyday. This year's gonna be different, I promise!" January 14th rolls around, and you've been to the gym once. Maybe twice. You're already caught up in the busyness of life as usual. Every once in awhile, you remember your resolution, and it makes you feel bad about yourself. Ugh! Where's the joy in that??? Here's what I'm proposing: Don't do that this year. Forget the resolutions. Throw them out the window, and try something different! They say you can't expect different results by doing the same thing over and over. So, try something different this year. I've created a process that allows space for life to unfold. A process where you can set goals, dream big, and still live your day-to-day life. Even if unexpected obstacles come up (and they will!), or things don't go as planned (they rarely do!), you'll still be moving in the direction of your dreams. This is a process that'll leave you feeling happier, more fulfilled, and hopeful. A key part of this process is chunking your goals down into categories and then translating those into affirmations. An affirmation is a statement that puts you in control of your mindset. It creates space for life to unfold, while keeping your focus on your highest goals. It keeps you focused on who you want to become this year, and less on the actual events unfolding. Because, goodness knows, last year taught us that trying to predict the actual events of the year can be a wild card. But, when you're in control of your mindset, of who you want to become, and how you want to react, well that's everything. That puts you in the driver seat of your life no matter what happens. I'll show you exactly how to do this in my upcoming workshop, Thriving in the New Year. It's happening January 16th and you can save your spot HERE. (Would you rather go through it on your own? You move through life, doing your day-to-day things, and all of a sudden you're an "adult!" Wrapped up in all the "tasks" and mundane routines from one day to the next. And, in the blink of an eye, it's the new year and you do it all over again.
What if the secret to getting out of the rut is letting yourself daydream? Letting your imagination run wild with ideas and possibilities! Spend an hour with a child and you'll see how exciting your imagination can be! Seriously, how can a box be so fun? A single box can turn into a fort, spaceship, dollhouse, and about a million other things! Visioning and imagining is fun! It's a huge part of what gets you excited to do the mundane daily work that it takes to reach your goals. Your vision, your dream, the possibility of it all. This is your fuel. Your vision becomes the motivation that propels you forward. Let me share a story with you: There once was a baby elephant tied to a pole. He could only walk a short perimeter around the pole before he felt the tug of the rope. When the elephant grew up, his owner untied the rope. He was free to roam the world! But, do you know what he did? He stayed in the small perimeter of the pole. That's all he ever knew. He could explore the world, but he chose to say tied to an imaginary rope. You, my friend, are free to roam the world! You have the power to untie yourself. And, it all starts with your mindset and imagination. To get started, download my Thriving in the New Year workbook. In it, you'll get my step-by-step new year's visioning process. If you'd rather go through the process in-person with me, save your spot for the workshop on January 16th HERE |
